THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR NVMI GOOGLE-BASED EMAIL ACCOUNTS.

There are multiple ways to add your email to your phone. You only need to choose one of them.

If you have more than one NVMI email account, just repeat the steps to add additional email accounts.

All cadet.novamil.org and parent.novamil.org emails are in the Google system. Staff members are in the process of migrating from the Office365 system to the Google system.
 

OPTION #1: How to add your NVMI email to the Apple Mail app on your iPhone

Why would I choose this? Most people already use the built-in Apple Mail app and are familiar with how it works. All iPhone users have this app preloaded on their phones.

• Go to the “Settings” App, scroll down to find “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and CLICK IT
• You will then see a list of accounts you already have in your phone
• CLICK “Add Account”
• CLICK “Google”
• Enter your complete NVMI email address (e.g. 77777@cadet.novamil.org, etc…) and CLICK "Next"
• Enter the matching password and CLICK "Next"
• On this last screen, adjust the switches to your preferences. Our suggestion is to just have the “Mail” switch turned on.
• ALL DONE! Your NVMI emails will now appear in their own inbox in your Apple “Mail” app on your iPhone.
   

OPTION #2: How to add your NVMI email to the Gmail app on your iPhone

Why would I choose this? Some people like to separate their emails, or prefer to use an app specifically designed for the email system. The Gmail app is a free download, and has some notable advantages over the Apple Mail app. That being said, the Apple Mail app does a fine job.

If you haven’t already, download the Gmail app from the App Store.

If this is the first email account in your Gmail app, follow these directions for first time use:

• Launch the Gmail app (e.g. Open the app) and you’ll see a familiar Google login page
• Enter your complete NVMI email address (e.g. 77777@cadet.novamil.org) and CLICK “Next”
• Enter your password and CLICK “Sign In”
• ALL DONE! Your NVMI emails will now appear in your Gmail app on your iPhone

If you already use the Gmail app for other email accounts, follow these directions to add an account:

• Launch the Gmail app (e.g. Open the app)
• CLICK on the Menu icon (in the upper left corner)
• Then CLICK on your current username (also in the upper left corner)
• This opens up the account screen. CLICK on “Manage accounts” at the bottom
• CLICK on “Add account” and you’ll see a familiar Google login page
• Enter your complete NVMI email address (e.g. 77777@cadet.novamil.org) and CLICK “Next”
• Enter your password and CLICK “Sign In”
• CLICK “Done” in the upper left corner
• ALL DONE! Your NVMI emails will now appear in your Gmail app on your iPhone
