Camp Pendleton Summer Camp - Some Spaces Still Left

SUMMER CAMP at Camp Pendleton is a wonderful opportunity for NVMI cadets. We offer truly once-in-a-lifetime programs:

  The 7TH Brigade at North Valley Military Institute will conduct a Summer Camp at Camp Pendleton in San Diego during the period 20-29 June 2019.

    1. Each cadet will pay $250 or 2500 merits to attend.   
    2. Payment should be made at the Hawk Exchange. Receipts will be given for all cash collected. Checks are not accepted.
    3. Cadets may make payment in partial cash and partial merits at the HX.
    4. Cadets are required to submit (1) an application, (2) permission slip, (3) Camp Pendleton Release Form, and (4) Medical History Form with (5) their payment.
    5. Deadline for forms and payment is 5 April 2019.  Applications will only be accepted after that date on a space available basis.
    6. There are no academic, physical, or citizenship eligibility requirements to attend camp in the Basic NCO course.  There are academic, physical, and citizenship eligibility requirements for other courses of instruction as noted below.
    7. The following courses are being offered and have prerequisites as noted:
      1.                                                    i.      Basic Non-Commissioned Officer course (BNCOC)– for cadets in grades 6-9 in ranks below C/SGT. No prerequisites.  Cadets successfully completing this course of study will be eligible for a promotion.
      2.                                                  ii.      Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer course (ANCOC) – for cadets of any grade level in the ranks of C/CPL, C/SGT, or C/SSG who do not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of end of the 3rd quarter). Cadets successfully completing this course will be eligible to earn one or more promotions.
      3.                                                iii.      Officer Candidate School (OCS) – for cadets of any grade level in the rank of C/SSG or higher who wish to be commissioned C/2LT or C/WO1. They must have passed all NVMI classes first semester and are passing all NVMI classes as of 3rd quarter report cards and who do not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as the end of the 3rd quarter). Cadets must also have passed the Fitnessgram during 2nd semester 2019. Cadets who successfully complete this course will be commissioned C/2LT or C/WO1 at the conclusion of Summer Camp (or at the conclusion of Entrance Camp in July if there are still outstanding requirements to be met).
      4.                                                iv.      Cadet Medic School (MEDIC) – Cadets must be in high school during the 18-19 school year and at least the rank of C/CPL.  They must have passed all NVMI classes first semester and are passing all NVMI classes as of 3rd quarter report cards and who do not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of the end of the 3rd quarter). They must also pass the FEMA online course, Introduction to the Incident Command System, prior to 31 May 2019.
      5.                                                  v.      Cadet Military Police School (MP) - Cadets must have at least the rank of CFC.  They must not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of the end of the 3rd quarter). Cadets must also have passed the Fitnessgram during 2nd semester 2019.
      6.                                                vi.      Recondo School - Cadets must be in grades 9 or higher during the 18-19 school year and be a C/CPL or higher.  They must not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of the end of the 3rd quarter). Cadets must also have passed the Fitnessgram during 2nd semester 2019 AND have a medical doctor’s permission to attend this training.  
      7.                                               vii.      Marksmanship Training Unit (MTU) – Recommended rank of CFC.  They must not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of the end of the 3rd quarter).
      8.                                             viii.      Specially Honed Aquatic Rescue Cadet (SHARC)  -  Cadets must be at least 15 years old and a recommended rank of C/CPL.  They must not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of the end of the 3rd quarter). Cadets must also have passed the Fitnessgram during 2nd semester 2019 and BE A GOOD SWIMMER.
      9.                                                ix.      Firefighting Incident Rescue Explorer (FIRE) – Cadets must be in grade 8 or higher during the 18-19 school year and a recommended rank of CFC.  They must not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of the end of the 3rd quarter) and must have passed the Fitnessgram during 2nd semester 2019.
      10.                                                  x.      General Education in Automotive Repair (GEAR) - Cadets must be in grade 8 or higher during the 18-19 school year and a recommended rank of CFC.  They must not have excessive permanent demerits (more than 30 as of the end of the 3rd quarter).
